TZM rod, also known as TZM molybdenum rod or TZM high temperature molybdenum rod, is an alloy rod composed of molybdenum (Mo), titanium (Ti), zirconium (Zr) and carbon (C). Among them, the content of molybdenum is the highest, and the addition of titanium, zirconium and carbon is relatively small, but their presence significantly improves the performance of the alloy.
TZM rods have high strength, high temperature oxidation resistance and excellent corrosion resistance, which allows them to maintain their integrity and stability in high temperature and high pressure environments. Therefore, it is widely used in aerospace, shipbuilding, petrochemical, nuclear industry and other fields. In the aerospace field, TZM rods are commonly used in the manufacture of spacecraft engine nozzles, turbine blades, combustion chamber linings and other components; in the petrochemical and nuclear industries, TZM rods are commonly used in the manufacture of reactors, high-temperature furnace tubes, catalyst carriers, etc. Key components of high temperature and high pressure equipment.
The preparation methods of TZM rods mainly include arc melting-casting method and powder metallurgy method. Arc melting-casting method is to melt pure molybdenum by arc, add a certain amount of Ti, Zr and other alloying elements by weight percentage, and then obtain TZM alloy rod by regular casting method. The powder metallurgy law has a unique chemical composition and mechanical and physical properties, which can not be obtained by traditional casting methods.
